Child protection at the women’s shelter

Children are always affected by violence, even if they didn’t experience the violence themselves or in person. Family violence leaves a mark on your child’s development.

Together with their mother in the women’s shelter, children see how tension and pressure can ease. They experience the liberation from fears and constraints as a basis for an enjoyable life, learning and creativity.

The social educationalists in the HAUS der FRAU women’s shelter are against violence, help with designating and understanding children’s emotions, and help children to deal with the new situation and to develop self-confidence and strength.

Social educationalists provide support with:

  • Dealing with violent experiences
  • Providing therapy-based help
  • The search for suitable childcare/schools
  • Conveying learning contents and support measures

Your children are given the opportunity to participate in individual and group-based educational and leisure activities. If required, your children will be accompanied to school, kindergarten, court visits and advice centres.
